The AECMM recognises an ARAID project in nanotechnology for metastasic breast cancer
ARAID researcher Alberto Jiménez Schuhmacher, from the Aragon Health Research Institute, has been awarded at the 7th M. Chiara Giorgetti Awards by the Spanish Metastatic Breast Cancer Association (AECMM) for a project focused on the development of new nanotechnology-based therapeutic strategies.
The award corresponds to the third prize, endowed with €50,000, and recognises research aimed at advancing the treatment of metastatic breast cancer through the application of nanotechnology to innovative therapeutic approaches.
The award ceremony took place recently in Barcelona, within the framework of the event “Juntas Cambiamos la Meta”, where patients, researchers, healthcare professionals and representatives of civil society gathered to reflect on the current and future challenges of this disease.
The M. Chiara Giorgetti Awards allocate a total of €280,000 to support research projects aimed at improving knowledge of metastatic breast cancer and promoting the development of new therapeutic options.
During the event, Alberto Jiménez Schuhmacher underlined the importance of the social impact of scientific research, highlighting that this project responds to the need to develop advances that contribute to improving the lives of affected patients.
This recognition highlights ARAID’s role in promoting research excellence in Aragón and its contribution to advancing knowledge in the field of oncology.
