ARAID: "Aragonese Agency for Research and Development Foundation"

ARAID attracts and stabilizes outstanding research talent in the main scientific institutions of Aragón, contributing to the strengthening of the regional R&D&I ecosystem. Its researchers carry out their work in centers such as the University of Zaragoza, the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Public Research Organizations (OPI), and various foundations and entities dedicated to research in the region.

Objectives of the ARAID Foundation

The objectives of the ARAID Foundation are focused on promoting research, development, and innovation in Aragón:

Strengthen human resources for R&D&I

Develop an active policy to increase and improve human resources dedicated to R&D&I, as a key factor for regional development.

Dissemination of knowledge generated in Aragón

Promote the interest of Aragonese society in R&D&I by disseminating the scientific and technical knowledge generated in Aragón and transferring it to companies and industries, so that support for innovation becomes a hallmark of our community.

Promote scientific and academic collaborations

Establish scientific and academic collaborations with public and private entities, both national and international, in areas related to its activities.

Support fundraising for R&D&I projects

Provide support to R&D&I entities and agents in securing funds from competitive international and national programs, as well as offering assistance in proposal preparation.

Composed of representatives from the Government of Aragon and the scientific community. None of the members of ARAID’s Board of Trustees, except for its director, receive any remuneration for their service on the Foundation.

All ARAID calls are published in English and open to the international scientific community. Candidates are evaluated by external experts based on the merit and quality of their track record.

Since 2009, we have applied the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, and currently align our policies with the European Code of Conduct for Researchers (2023). These frameworks strengthen the rights and responsibilities of researchers and employers, promoting an attractive and sustainable scientific career.
