Astrophysics and artificial intelligence meet in Madrid with ARAID participation
ARAID researcher David Martínez Delgado participated as an attendee in the conference “Machine Learning meets Galaxy Classification II”, held from 10 to 12 June 2026 in Madrid, a meeting aimed at the scientific community specialising in extragalactic systems.
The conference “Machine Learning meets Galaxy Classification II” brought together researchers focused on the application of machine learning techniques to the study of extragalactic systems, a growing area within modern astrophysics. Events of this kind provide an opportunity to exchange knowledge on how artificial intelligence can be used to process large volumes of astronomical data and improve galaxy classification.
During the sessions, different approaches were presented regarding the use of machine learning models for identifying galactic structures, characterising galaxy populations and analysing data obtained from both spacebased and groundbased observations. Participation in this conference helps connect research activity with the latest developments in advanced computational tools applied to astronomy.
ARAID’s presence in this type of specialised forum strengthens the international visibility of research carried out in Aragón and supports its integration into leading scientific networks in the fields of data science and astrophysics.
