Advanced microscopy and 2D materials at the core of ARAID researcher Raúl Arenal's participation in EGF 2026

The 11th Graphene and 2D Materials Conference (EGF 2026), held in Seville from 21 to 23 October, featured the participation of ARAID researcher Raúl Arenal, from the Institute of Nanoscience and Materials of Aragon (INMA, CSIC-University of Zaragoza). During the conference, he presented the contribution"Unveiling the Atomic Configuration and Physical Properties of Low-Dimensional (2D) Materials via Advanced TEM", focused on the study of the atomic configuration and physical properties of two-dimensional materials using advanced transmission electron microscopy techniques.

In addition to presenting his research, Raúl Arenal chaired the session Environment & Sustainable Materials/Surfaces Properties & Applications on 23 October together with Ana Primo Arnau, and also served as chair of the joint plenary session SMS 2026 / EGF 2026 / Sensors 2026 / NanoMed 2026 Joint Plenary Session II. Both sessions fostered knowledge exchange and scientific discussion among specialists from different fields.

EGF 2026 brought together researchers, representatives of universities, research centres and organisations involved in graphene, two-dimensional materials and related applications. The conference provided a platform to share scientific advances, promote new collaborations and discuss challenges associated with the development and characterisation of advanced materials.
