This project is a revised version of a previous submitted project for the same call (ERC-2015-Starting Grant).
The project submitted in 2015, BioSelfA got a high score (ranking range 30%) but it was not funded (only the top 29% selected to pass).
After addressing the weaks of BioSelfA and improving CV, BioFunCer was submitted two years later.
Surpresingly, BioFunCer got lower score, main reason: idea too ambitious, too risky (although is recognized that if succesful the gain would be enormous).
