What can morphology tell us about the climate that oak species occupy? For decades, many botanists and ecologists have been trying to give an explanation about the ecological role of several leaf traits. However, very few people have attempted to relate this general knowledge to the particular case of oak species. This session will integrate well-known explanations of several ecological traits with others which still remain uncertain in order to better understand the colonization of different climates by worldwide Quercus species.
