Waste valorisation through robust hierarchical fuel cells for the direct conversion of biogas into electricity and cogeneration of cooling/heating
The global objective of Waset4ECH is the design and optimization of an advance fuel cell capable to transform biogas with certain amount of impurities into energy and waste heat in one-step. Additionally, the waste heat might be used for heating/cooling processes. Capitalizing on the experience of this research team in ceramic processing, material sciences, chemical/applied engineering and modelling, we pursue valorising residual biogas (from waste streams) into renewable energy with zero emissions for the agricultural and food industries, wastewater treatment plants and landfills among others.
